Application Requirements and what to expect

WHAT IS Home for the Holidays?

During the winter, many neighbors throughout the city enjoy giving gifts so that others feel cared for and have some items they want and need during the holiday season. Through the Home for the Holidays campaign, we enlist community support in the form of monetary and in-kind donations to directly help Foundation Communities residents.

TO BE ELIGIBLE to apply for Home for the Holidays, you must:

• Complete your application in full by Friday, November 1st and include the specific information requested. If the application is not complete, it may not be considered.
• Be a resident of Foundation Communities and ONLY be requesting support for people on your lease.
• Be in good standing with your lease, as determined by Foundation Communities staff.
• Earn less than $75,000 annually for a 1-4 person household. If there are more than four people in your household, then your income eligibility increases by $5,000 for each additional family member.
• Not have a current Foundation Communities employee (full or part-time) in your household.

WHAT TO EXPECT when completing this application:

• It will take about 10-20 minutes to complete, depending on your household size.
• The application will ask for (1) general household information; (2) wish list items for each adult in the household; and (4) wish list items for each child in the household. Please list specific details that will help the sponsors when selecting gifts (include sizes, favorite colors, etc. when appropriate).

Please ALSO NOTE:

• We cannot guarantee that everyone who applies for assistance will be sponsored nor that all requested items will be provided. We will let you know if you have or have not been matched with a sponsor no later than Monday, December 9th.
• Our sponsors come from all different walks of life. We have no way of knowing what a sponsor will provide, but sponsors are asked to budget $50-$100 per family member.
• Due to storage limitations, we are not able to accept large items like bikes, bed frames, and furniture.
